  Assembly picketing

  when i went to the assemblies, i would see people picketing, holding signs up, etc.

  you would have "security" to look out for green bibles, and keep opostates out.. i never looked at them with hatred, never really gave it much thought at all.. i am curious if anyone here has participated in protesting the assemblies, and what were the reactions?

  I remember feeling afraid when I would see apostates picketing outside of our assembly hall. I thought for sure they must be demonized! It was almost as if I looked at them they were sure to cast a spell on me!

  I don't think this works on sending positive messages across.

  Feeling depressed

  its weird...i was feeling fine all day and then all of a sudden i just feel depressed.. i'm wondering if i made a mistake divorcing my wife.

  i know i made a right decision leaving the wt, but just wonder if i should have stuck it out with her.

  not that she wanted me or anything, thats the main reason why i left.

  Truthseeker,

  I'm sorry you feel that way. If you were not happy in your marriage you did the right thing. I speak from experience. Whatever you do, enjoy yourself and get to know yourself better. Don't rush into a serious relationship at this point. You need to be happy with yourself first before you could share your heart with anybody else. This is the time to explore things in life that really matter to you and only you...maybe be a little selfish, it's called taking care and nurturing yourself. It takes time...something I wish I would have given myself. Hang in there!

  help, for those leaving cults

  one year and a half ago, i went to my boss, and i leveled with her about my life as a jw, my doubts, and concerns.. she tried to find me professional help, with the many connects she has with professionals, and various organizations she is connected with, and came up with nothing.. fortunately, i managed without the help, somehow with the support and love from my family, and one very special person .

  last week we (gwen and i) attended a support group, something we became aware of.

  i had never heard of such a thing, and found out, they are starting the first of its kind support system here in massachusetts.. the place is called : the new england institute of religious research .

  My Girlfriend Admitted Adultery, Is she still a JW

  i've been dating a woman who is a jw and is currently going through a divorce from an abusive relationship.  she has admitted adultery (stupid) though there was never any proof.  she did mention something about excommunticated, but it's difficult to get answers from her because she doesn't want to talk about it.  that is probably because i'm atheist, and obviously her views are opposite of mine.  but i'm having trouble getting a straight answer from anyone at this point.  if she is excommunicated is she still a jw?  any help would be greatly appreciated.  thanks.

  i have a short question.. while you were in the truth would have been impressed by the quotes on the quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com page about 1914 and all the other wrong prophecies or would you have simply ignored or denied the accuracy of the quotes?.

  would that have caused doubts or would you have found a way to rationalize the obvious lies?.
